Season’s greetings

The days are getting longer and the Christmas festivities help to get us through the dark days.  New Year is on the way, a time typically to reflect on the year gone and the year to come.  Beware thinking that you may as well binge (undoing all the work you’ve done during this year) and start afresh in January.  If you do that, it will be so much harder to pick up and start again.  Then the thought creeps in, why bother, it’s going to be really hard.

XmasBaubleAs much as you can, keep to your exercise routine – if nothing else, go out for a walk – move your body.   By all means, have a few treats, don’t feel deprived.  As my grandmother used to say, a little of what you fancy does you good.  Make sure it’s just a little.  Check in with yourself regularly as you are making choices and ask yourself “Is this the best choice for me right now?”

Think long term, think lifestyle choices.  Ask yourself where your choice is leading you.  Is it leading you to the lifestyle you want where you are healthy, fit and free of disease?  Or is your choice leading you to a future that is not so rosy.  Only you can decide.

It’s a special time of the year.  Relax and enjoy it, knowing you are making the best choices for you and your ultimate well-being.  Give yourself the gift of wellness.

Merry Christmas to you.
