Merry Christmas

The Christmas season is a time of contrasts. For some people it’s the best time of the year – a time to celebrate, party and revel in gift giving and the company of family and friends.

For others it’s the worst time of the year. The feeling of loneliness, memories of times past, missing people no longer with you.

The first Christmas after loved ones have passed on, just like the first birthday or anniversary, is especially poignant.

My advice has always been to celebrate, even if you really don’t feel like it, and honour loved ones who are no longer with you.

It’s always easier for me to see someone else’s situation than to see my own. However, this year I’m following my own advice and having a wonderful time with friends.

I hope you are too.
